Stewie2k Departs Cloud9, Sets Sights on SK Gaming Trial

Jake “Stewie2k” Yip Leaves Cloud9 for New Opportunity

Franchise star Jake “Stewie2k” Yip has decided to part ways with Cloud9 in pursuit of a unique opportunity. He will be trying out for SK Gaming in the coming weeks and will temporarily replace Epitacio “TACO” de Melo on the Brazilian lineup, as announced by SK captain Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo on Twitter.

Stewie2k’s Departure from Cloud9

Stewie2k’s departure from Cloud9 is a result of a recent last-minute offer he received from SK Gaming. Although it is unclear whether he is officially contracted to SK, Cloud9 CEO Jack Etienne stated that Stewie2k was released from his multi-year agreement with Cloud9.

SK Gaming’s Success and Stewie2k’s Decision

Stewie2k believes that joining the Brazilian roster will enhance his career. In 2017, SK Gaming was the most successful CS:GO team with eight title wins. Stewie2k has already moved into the SK team house and is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.

Changes in Cloud9’s Lineup

With Stewie2k’s departure, Cloud9 now consists of Tarik Celik, Will “RUSH” Wierzba, and Tim “autimatic” Ta from their previous championship-winning lineup. Additionally, Tyler “skadoodle” Latham has become an inactive player, leaving the future uncertain for him.

It is possible that veteran players Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert and Michael “shroud” Grzesiek will temporarily fill in until replacements for Stewie2k and skadoodle are found. Rumors suggest that former Team Liquid AWPer Josh “jdm” Marzano and Richard “xizt” Landstrom will be joining the team.

Stewie2k explained his decision, stating that although leaving Cloud9 is difficult because he considers the organization and team his home, he believes that this opportunity is once in a lifetime and will help him grow as a player.
