Steel reunites with Swag and AZK on GX at last

iBuyPower Roster Reunites Under New Banner

After being unbanned by ESL and DreamHack, three-fifths of the former iBuyPower roster is reuniting under a new banner.

Josh “steel” Nissan will be taking over as in-game leader for the GX roster, replacing Michael “dapr” Gulino. This means that Braxton “swag” Pierce and Keven “AZK” Lariviere will once again be led by steel. The team is accusing dapr of match-throwing in their recent ESL Pro League relegation matches, as stated in a tweet from dapr.

During the North American LAN event against Rogue Gaming and Rise Nation, GX had a win-loss map record of 0-4, which is a complete contrast to their 9-7 map record during the ESEA Premier season.

In response to dapr’s tweet, Matt “Pollo” Wilson stated, “‘Throwing’ was used loosely … to convey poor performance via reckless and uninformed plays without reason. The contrast between Mike’s in-game decision making online and LAN is like night and day.”

Last night, GX already began practicing with steel instead of playing with dapr against Mythic. Both teams tried to keep the roster change a secret during the scrimmage match, with steel using the alias “hairy.”

Steel is now the third in-game leader to join the GX roster, following Sam “DaZeD” Marine stepping down due to lackluster performances during the Premier season. This means that GX now consists of steel, pollo, swag, azk, and Shawn “witmer” Taylor.

GX will make their comeback with their new leader in the upcoming Premier season, beginning on Jan. 16.
