Beyond the Summit Adds CS:GO Tournament to Lineup
After hosting multiple tournaments in its studio headquarters, Beyond the Summit is expanding its repertoire with a new event.
For the first time ever, Beyond the Summit will be delivering world-class competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) to its audience live from its studios in Los Angeles.
Called cs_summit, the tournament will feature eight teams competing for a minimum of $100,000. The first team to be announced is SK Gaming, the reigning Valve major champions.
The cs_summit will not follow the traditional format of esports broadcasts. Instead, it will adopt a structure similar to the popular HomeStory Cups, where players travel to tournament organizer Dennis “TaKe” Gehlen’s studio to compete. The focus of the cs_summit will be on the players themselves, who often provide engaging and entertaining commentary.
The laid-back atmosphere and player commentary have made the cs_summit a fan-favorite among the Dota 2 and Super Smash Bros: Melee communities.
Beyond the Summit has hosted a total of eleven events since 2014. If you’re interested in watching your favorite CS:GO pros commentate games in a relaxed fashion, make sure to tune in.
