SK dominates, North and NiP struggle in Group B of EPL Season Six Finals

Group Stage Concludes at ESL Pro League Season Six Finals

The group stage at the ESL Pro League Season Six Finals is over, and there were some surprising results along the way.

SK, the top team in Group B, bounced back today after going 1-1 on Tuesday. They defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas, NRG Esports, and Misfits, finishing with a 4-1 record and securing the top spot in the group. OpTic Gaming followed closely behind with a 3-2 record, while Misfits surpassed expectations by finishing in third place ahead of NRG, NiP, and North.

SK Dominates the Group Stage

SK had a relatively easy time in today’s games. In their match against NiP on Overpass, every SK player finished with a rating above 1.00, while only one NiP player, Fredrik “REZ” Sterner, achieved the same. The game against NRG was almost identical, with SK defeating the NA team 16-9. They finished the day with a quick 16-7 victory against Misfits on Cache.

Unexpected Results for NiP and North

While SK’s strong performance was expected, the disappearance of NiP and North was surprising. North, playing in their home country of Denmark, only managed one win against OpTic on Overpass. Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså was the standout player in that match. NiP also struggled, allowing Misfits and OpTic to secure second and third place in Group B.

Misfits and OpTic Stand Out

Misfits and OpTic performed well in Group B, with OpTic’s strong practice paying off. They had a close match against NiP on Mirage, which ended in a 16-14 loss, but handed SK their only defeat in the group stage. Misfits, led by former Cloud9 player Sean Gares, secured the final playoff spot in the group by defeating NiP Gaming 16-13 on Overpass.

SK, as the top seed, has a bye for the first round of the playoffs. They will face the winner of HellRaisers vs. Misfits, while OpTic will face Fnatic to determine who will take on Group A top seed, FaZe Clan.
