The ELEAGUE Major Qualifier Begins with 16 Teams Competing

The ELEAGUE Major Qualifier kicked off today in Atlanta, with 16 teams competing for a spot at Counter Strike’s biggest stage, the ELEAGUE Major in Atlanta next month.

Swiss Style Tournament Format

The teams are competing in a Swiss style tournament format, where the winners of the first round will play each other tomorrow, along with the losers of the first round. Teams must win three out of five possible games to qualify.

Top Teams in Attendance

Some of Counter Strike’s best teams are in attendance, including OpTic Gaming, winners of last month’s ELEAGUE Season Two, as well as mainstay big teams Ninjas in Pyjamas, FaZe Clan, and G2 Esports.

Intense Matches and Exciting Upsets

Today’s action was highly competitive, with no team scoring less than six round wins in the best-of-one matches. The standout match of the day was between FaZe Clan and Cloud9, with FaZe eventually prevailing in overtime on Mirage with a score of 19-17. There were also notable upsets, with Vega Squadron defeating Counter Logic Gaming and the Brazilian Immortals taking a match over Team EnVyUs.
