The Renegades Counter-Strike lineup makes a change
The Renegades Counter-Strike lineup is currently going through their worst period since joining the organization. Despite their resilience to roster changes, the team has been forced to make a swap. Luke “Havoc” Paton, also known as ‘The Beard’, has been replaced by Karlos “USTILO” Pivac.
Karlos “USTILO” Pivac joins Renegades
Pivac, who previously played for Team Immunity, is considered one of the top players in the oceanic scene. He has also competed internationally at events like Gfinity, IEM Cologne, and Dreamhack Stockholm.
A change in response to poor performance
Renegades’ decision to make this swap follows a string of disappointing performances in late 2015 that carried over into 2016. The team’s defeat against The MongolZ at IEM Taipei cost them a spot at one of the biggest events of the year, IEM Katowice. With the ESL ESEA Pro League, Turner’s ELEAGUE, and the MLG Major qualifier coming up, Renegades needs to be in top form.
Paton finds a new home and remains positive
Paton is returning to Australia, but there is some good news for him. Rumor has it that he has already found a new team composed of players from the top three teams in the region. In a statement on Reddit, Paton expressed that the split was amicable and his intention to compete internationally again soon.
Pivac joins Renegades in Las Vegas
Pivac will be joining the rest of the Renegades at their practice facility in Las Vegas. The team currently resides in the Downtown Grand casino hotel and utilizes its offices for practice.
