ECS Online League Finals: G2 Esports Dominates, Takes Home the Win

G2 Esports emerged victorious in the finals of the Esports Championship Series (ECS) online league. The road to the finals was filled with intense battles between top teams, including Luminosity Gaming, Fnatic, G2 Esports, and Team SoloMid. Let’s take a closer look at how it all unfolded.


Semi-finals

G2 Esports vs. Fnatic

G2 Esports started strong on the first map, Overpass, dominating Fnatic with a 16-2 score. Despite Fnatic’s initial lead on the second map, Dust 2, G2 Esports showed mental fortitude and came back to win 16-13, securing a 2-0 victory.

Luminosity Gaming vs. Team SoloMid

Luminosity Gaming, the Major champions, faced a strong challenge from Team SoloMid on the first map, Overpass. However, Luminosity Gaming displayed their dominance with a crushing 16-3 victory. The second map, Cobblestone, was more closely contested, but Luminosity Gaming emerged victorious with a 16-14 score.

Final score: Luminosity Gaming 2-0 Team SoloMid


Finals

Luminosity Gaming vs. G2 Esports

In the finals, Luminosity Gaming and G2 Esports faced off in a rematch of the ESL Pro League Season 3 Final. G2 Esports took control from the start on Dust 2, winning the first half 8-7 and eventually securing a 16-11 victory. They continued their dominance on Overpass, winning the first seven rounds uncontested and ultimately closing out the map 16-5.

Final score: G2 Esports 2-0 Luminosity Gaming
