Rain devours a cigarette as a consequence of losing a wager during the Pro League Finals

Astralis Wins Another Trophy, FaZe Clan’s rain Eats Cigarette

Astralis emerged victorious once again in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament. However, it was FaZe Clan’s Håvard “rain” Nygaard who stole the spotlight on social media.

After suffering a devastating 2-0 defeat to Astralis in the semifinals on May 19, rain confidently predicted that the Danish team would sweep Team Liquid in the grand finals the next day. He made a promise to eat a cigarette if they couldn’t achieve a 3-0 series win.

Unfortunately for rain, Astralis ended up winning the tournament with a 3-1 best-of-five series score, securing victories on Dust II, Nuke, and Inferno.

A key moment in the tournament came in round 30 on map three, Mirage, when Liquid’s Keith “NAF” Markovic made a big play. This allowed Liquid to be the only team in the entire tournament to take a map off of Astralis. As soon as the match ended with a score of 16-14, rain tweeted an expletive, acknowledging that he had lost the bet he made with himself.

Other professional players, such as Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, Jake “Stewie2k” Yip, and Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom, took to Twitter to respond with funny gifs and sarcastic words of encouragement.

In a video posted on ESL’s Twitter, rain fulfilled his promise by eating a cigarette without the filter. He admitted that it wasn’t an enjoyable experience but said he was a man of his word.

Fortunately for rain, he won’t have to worry about nicotine poisoning. He only ingested approximately 10 milligrams of nicotine, far below the estimated lethal dose of 500 to 1,000 milligrams. As long as he doesn’t make a habit of it, he should be fine.
