Pyth becomes a free agent following expiration of NiP contract

Sweden’s Successful CS:GO Team Releases Former Player

One of the most successful Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams in Sweden has decided to part ways with one of its former players.

Despite winning two tournaments in 2016, the legendary Swedish CS:GO squad NiP benched Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi on March 23 to make room for current AWPer William “draken” Sundin. Now, pyth’s contract with NiP has officially expired, making him a free agent.

Pyth joined NiP in early 2016 after their former AWPer Aleksi “allu” Jalli left the team. NiP had international success, winning DreamHack Masters Malmö on April 16 and IEM Oakland on Nov. 20. However, despite their LAN victories, NiP failed to qualify for the ELEAGUE Major in late 2016. This led to a roster change that resulted in pyth being removed from the legendary squad.

Although pyth didn’t have the opportunity to continue competing with NiP, he joined a Swedish mix team with former NiP player Mikail “Maikelele” Bill, Faruk “pita” Pita, and Alexander “SKYTTEN” Carlsson on May 2.

It remains to be seen whether pyth will choose to continue competing with this group of players.
