IEM Katowice 2017 Group Stage Predictions
The staff at GAMURS is all set for IEM Katowice, and they have some interesting predictions for the teams that will make it out of the group stage. Here’s what they think:
Group A seems pretty straightforward, with almost everyone favoring SK Gaming, Virtus Pro, and North. However, one brave soul has chosen Heroic, possibly influenced by Thorin’s video on their chances to upset. You can watch it here.
Group B is a bit more complicated. Astralis is the clear favorite, and FaZe Clan is also a popular choice with their new roster. But as you can see from the graph, the predictions for this group are quite diverse.
Interestingly, five people have shown faith in the reunited Fnatic team, while two have picked OpTic Gaming. However, there are doubts about OpTic’s performance after the departure of Stanislaw and the addition of Hiko. They will need a consistent run to advance in a group that includes strong teams like Astralis and Immortals.
Speaking of Immortals, with their new addition fnx, there is optimism that this talented squad will perform well in the group stage.
Unfortunately, Ninja in Pyjamas has been picked only once, despite their struggles in recent months. They failed to qualify for the ELEAGUE Major and only managed a top-eight finish at DreamHack Vegas.
