Potential Contender Teams for the 2017 ELEAGUE Major

Qualifier Teams Set for 2017 ELEAGUE Major

The teams that will participate in the main offline qualifier for the 2017 ELEAGUE Major have been decided through online and regional qualifiers. The offline qualifier will take place from Dec. 15-18 in Atlanta, Georgia at the ELEAGUE Arena. Teams from the North American, European, CIS, and Asian regions will compete in the qualifier.

Eight teams have been automatically given spots in the qualifier based on their ninth through 16th place finishes at the ESL One Cologne major in July. Additionally, two teams from each of the four regions have earned the final eight spots. Here are all the teams that have qualified:

Qualified Through ESL One Cologne 2016

  • G2 Esports (EU)
  • Team EnVyUs (EU)
  • Mousesports (EU)
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas (EU)
  • Team Dignitas (EU)
  • FaZe Clan (EU)
  • OpTic Gaming (NA)
  • Counter Logic Gaming (NA)

Qualified Through the Americas Minor

  • Cloud9 (NA)
  • Immortals (SA)

Qualified Through the European Minor

  • GODSENT (EU)
  • HellRaisers (EU)

Qualified Through the CIS Minor

  • Team Spirit (EU)
  • Vega Squadron (EU)

Qualified Through the Asia Minor

  • TyLoo (AS)
  • Renegades (AS)

Only eight of these teams will move on to the ELEAGUE Major in January 2017. They will compete against the teams that have maintained their Legend status in the group stages of the major. The teams currently considered Legends are:

  • Virtus.pro (EU)
  • FNATIC (EU)
  • Astralis (EU)
  • FlipSid3 Tactics (EU)
  • Natus Vincere (EU)
  • Gambit Esports (EU)
