Potential Absence of BnTeT Could Jeopardize TyLoo’s Participation in the Boston Major

TyLoo May Forfeit Spot in ELEAGUE Major: Boston

The first Chinese team to qualify for a Valve Major may not be able to attend after all their hard work.

TyLoo might give up their spot in the ELEAGUE Major: Boston, according to temporary TyLoo coach Luis “Peacemaker” Tadeu. This is likely because the team doesn’t want to have Peacemaker as a stand-in at the $1 million event, happening from Jan. 12 to 28.

Visa Issues Prevent the Attendance of BnTeT

Over a week ago, Hansel “BnTeT” Ferdinand announced that he won’t be attending the Boston Major due to visa issues. His visa for travel to the United States was rejected. BnTeT, hailing from Indonesia, would have been traveling from his home country. Despite his absence, BnTeT’s in-game autograph sticker is still available in CS:GO, likely because of his role in the team’s core five.

Roster Issues for TyLoo and Other Teams

Currently, TyLoo’s only option is to use Peacemaker as a substitute. Their situation is similar to that of Team Liquid, Astralis, and SK Gaming. Wilton “zews” Prado is standing in for Team Liquid because Lucas “steel” Lopes is ineligible. Similarly, Danny “zonic” Sørensen may have to stand-in for Astralis if Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz’s medical leave is extended. SK Gaming, on the other hand, must use João “felps” Vasconcellos instead of their new replacement star Ricardo “boltz” Prass. These roster changes were forced upon the teams due to unclear stipulations set by both Valve and ELEAGUE.

Possible Replacement for TyLoo

If TyLoo chooses not to attend the Boston Major, their team slot could be given to Flash Gaming, who placed third at the Asia Minor in October. It is also uncertain whether TyLoo’s in-game stickers would be replaced on the Steam community market if they decide not to attend next month’s Major.
