Player Swap Between Astralis and Dignitas

Astralis Replaces Cajunb with Kjaerbye

Following a series of disappointing performances, Astralis has announced on Twitter that René “cajunb” Borg will be replaced by Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye in the team.

Astralis recently competed in ESL Pro League Season 3 Finals and DreamHack Masters Malmö 2016, but failed to progress past the group stages in both events.

While Dignitas achieved first place at DreamHack Tours 2016 and came second in Global eSports Cup Season 1, these tournaments are not considered major events in the esports community.

Due to Dignitas’ victory at DreamHack Tours 2016, Kjaerbye will not be eligible to compete with Astralis in the upcoming Major at ESL One Cologne 2016.

“Today is a sad day. We have decided to replace cajunb following a string of bad results, including two failed group stages at consecutive events. We always aim to be the best team we can be, but we have had several issues in the last few months. Initially, we tried switching positions, developing new strats and trying to anti-strat our opponents in a different way, but it is now time to try a more drastic approach,” said Astralis’ coach, Danny “zonic” Sørensen, on their website.

Kjaerbye will make his debut with Astralis on May 20 in the Esports Championship Series season 1, while cajunb will debut with Dignitas on May 22 against mousesports.
