Overcoming CS:GO’s Overplayed Issues: Examining Valve’s Selfishness

Graffitis: Valve Introduces New Money-Grab Feature to CS:GO

Valve has recently introduced a new feature called graffitis, or sprays, to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. When I found the “Graffiti | Still Happy (Battle Green)” in my inventory, I had mixed feelings about it.

Make Your Mark with Graffiti Update

Valve’s graffiti update allows players to mark up their virtual world with a wide range of graffiti patterns. These patterns can be obtained as drops or through graffiti box offers. Let your imagination run wild and decorate the game world for yourself, your friends, and even your enemies.

How to Get Graffitis

There are three ways to obtain in-game graffiti:

  1. Players have a chance to receive graffiti as a free weekly drop for ranking up
  2. Graffiti boxes featuring art created by Steam community artists can be purchased
  3. Individual graffiti patterns can be purchased from the Steam market

Concerns about Monetization and Usage Limits

Some players have raised concerns about Valve monetizing graffitis similar to how they monetize skins from cases. Each graffiti pattern can only be used 50 times, which has been met with criticism. Players also worry about Valve’s potential profit-making motives in the future.

Selling and Trading Graffitis

Graffitis can be sold and traded on the Steam market as long as they are sealed. Once a graffiti is unsealed, it cannot be traded or sold.

Valve’s Focus on Profit

Valve’s introduction of new cosmetic features in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has sparked a debate about their focus on profit rather than community satisfaction. In order to be treated more as an esports community, players need to communicate their desire for overall improvements in the game.

It’s important for players to understand Valve’s business mindset and not blindly support every cosmetic change they introduce. The community should prioritize the game’s improvement over the desire for new cases, skins, or capsules. By doing so, players can create a more balanced and fulfilling gaming experience.
