Over 200,000 viewers tuned in for the ELEAGUE Major broadcast.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Finals Draw Over 200,000 Viewers on TBS

The first Valve Major of 2017 drew in a massive audience, with more than 200,000 people tuning in to watch the finals of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on TBS.

The finals between Astralis and Virtus Pro had a total of 228,000 viewers on TBS. In addition, the live stream on Twitch reached a record-breaking 1 million viewers, bringing the total live audience to over 1.2 million.

Although the finals had slightly fewer viewers than Group D of ELEAGUE’s second season, it was still a highly-watched event. The viewership for the grand finals was also short of the fourth week of ELEAGUE’s first season, but this could be because more viewers chose to watch the event on Twitch.

The ELEAGUE Major, which took place from Jan. 22-29, featured 16 of the world’s best CS:GO teams. Astralis emerged as the champions after a thrilling three-game series.
