OpTic Gaming Unveils Its Inaugural Counter-Strike Team

OpTic Gaming Brings on Former Conquest Team for Counter-Strike

OpTic Gaming has officially entered the world of eSports by signing the former competitive Counter-Strike team from Conquest.

A New Home for the Former Conquest Team

In December 2015, the entire team left Conquest in search of a new home. Fortunately, OpTic Gaming CEO and Owner Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez had been looking to sign a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster for the past six months. According to H3CZ, expanding into the Counter-Strike scene meant going against the OpTic culture, but it was a decision he was willing to make.

Achievements in 2015

Despite being relatively new to the Counter-Strike scene, the team accomplished a lot in 2015. They finished third in both North American leagues, came in fourth at the CEVO/MLG CS:GO Season 8 Pro League Finals, and most recently won the E-LEAGUE Road to Vegas North American qualifier.

Content Creation and the OpTic.CS Team

H3CZ mentioned that the OpTic.CS team will not be required to create as much video content as their popular Call of Duty team and other content creators at the OpTic SCUF House. However, the players are willing to find a “healthy balance” in creating CS:GO content for OpTic.

OpTic Gaming is planning on purchasing an OpTic CS house for the new team, which will be located in Chicago, Illinois. Before that happens, the team has been invited to visit the SCUF House to interact with existing OpTic players and content creators.

The OpTic Gaming Counter-Strike team will be competing against Lounge Gaming in the E-LEAGUE Road to Vegas Finals on January 7th for a chance to win $35,000 and a spot in E-LEAGUE Season 1.
