OpTic Gaming terminates connection with ShahZaM

OpTic Gaming Releases ShahZaM, Announces New Addition to CS:GO Roster

OpTic Gaming, one of the biggest esports organizations in North America, has made a surprising move by releasing Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan from their CS:GO roster, as announced today. The replacement for ShahZaM comes in the form of Óscar “mixwell” Cañellas, who showed great potential in his recent performance at ESL Expo Barcelona.

After the news broke, ShahZaM took to Twitter to express his thoughts. He stated, “No longer playing with @OpTicGaming, I’ve decided to take my talents to South Beach.” Despite the unexpected decision, ShahZaM appears to be in good spirits and wishes the best of luck to his former teammates.

This roster change comes after OpTic Gaming’s failed attempts at qualifying for international tournaments, including the recent Valve major in Columbus, Ohio. While the team had moderate success prior to being acquired by OpTic, their performance has been on a decline since then.

In addition to ShahZaM’s departure, OpTic Gaming also announced that Damian “Daps” Steele will be the team’s new captain for the rest of 2016.
