OpTic and Ninjas in Pyjamas Knocked Out at IEM Katowice

OpTic Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas Eliminated from IEM Katowice CSGO Tournament

OpTic Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas have been eliminated from the IEM Katowice’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament after a series of disappointing performances.

Both teams have not managed to secure a single win in the competition, resulting in them being unable to advance. OpTic Gaming has a record of 0-3, while Ninjas in Pyjamas has a record of 0-4.

OpTic Gaming’s best chance of victory seemed to be against America’s qualifier Immortals, after losing their opener to Astralis. However, OpTic Gaming was defeated 8-16 on Inferno. They then suffered another loss to Swedish legends Fnatic, ending up at 0-3.

Ninjas in Pyjamas started the tournament with promising performances, narrowly losing to group favorites Fnatic 14-16 and suffering a punishing 24-28 quadruple overtime loss to Astralis. Despite showing potential for wins, NiP faced a 6-16 defeat against the high-flying FaZe Clan and another 14-16 loss against Immortals.

Although both teams are now eliminated, they will face each other in one of the final games of the day, competing solely for pride.

On the other end of the table, FaZe Clan is the favorite to advance straight to the semifinals, having won all four of their games. ELEAGUE Major winners Astralis are one win behind on 3-1, along with the Brazilian team, after suffering an upset loss to Immortals.

Fnatic is the only remaining team with a chance of advancing, holding a record of 2-2. However, they will need other results to go their way or win in a tiebreaker.
