NRG dominate TyLoo to emerge victorious at IEM Shanghai

NRG Esports Victorious at IEM Shanghai CS:GO Event

NRG Esports emerged as the champions of this year’s IEM Shanghai CS:GO event, showcasing their dominance throughout the tournament.

Strong Performance in a Less Competitive Tournament

The North American team displayed their strength against other teams in the $250,000 event, despite the competition being less fierce due to the ongoing player break in August. NRG is now proving to be a formidable competitor in their region.

NRG’s Impressive Run in the Group Stage

During the group stage, NRG defeated 5Power Gaming on Inferno with a score of 16-10, and also secured a victory against HellRaisers in a three-map series on Overpass (16-10) and Train (16-11). It’s worth noting that HR’s star player, Ozgur “woxic” Eker, was replaced by Kristjan “FejtZ” Allsaar during their match against NRG. HR faced Virtus Pro in the decider match and were ultimately defeated.

NRG Easily Handles Gambit Esports

Next up, NRG faced Gambit Esports in Shanghai. Although Gambit’s new coach Andrey “B1ad3” Gorodenskiy tried to strategize against NRG, it wasn’t enough to match the NA firepower. NRG emerged victorious on Train (16-8) and Overpass (16-3).

TyLoo Triumphs Over Virtus Pro in a Chaotic Series

Before their grand final match against NRG, TyLoo faced Virtus Pro in an intense and unpredictable series. Both teams struggled with unconventional playstyles, but TyLoo managed to secure the win by taking Train 22-20 and Cache 22-18.

Dominant Performance in the Grand Final

Unfortunately, TyLoo couldn’t keep up the momentum in the finals against NRG. NRG dominated on Overpass (16-9) and Mirage (16-2). Bulgarian AWPer Tsevetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov stood out in the final match with 26 kills per map and an impressive average damage per round of 109.4.

While IEM Shanghai didn’t provide a true test of NRG’s abilities against the world’s top teams, they are certainly closing the gap between themselves and teams like Team Liquid and Cloud9 in the race for the top spot in North America.
