North Dominates Day One at ESL Pro League Season 5 Finals

North had an impressive performance on day one of Group B at the ESL Pro League Season 5 Finals, securing a thrilling victory and engaging in some memorable banter.

Despite some trash talk before the match, Mousesports proved to be a formidable opponent for the Danes on Nuke. Both halves featured economic-breaking rounds and impressive individual plays that ultimately paid off for North. K0nfig stood out with a clutch one-versus-one and multiple kills during the pistol rounds. He ended the match with an exceptional 34-23 record and an impressive 58.8% headshot percentage.

However, North faced challenges on both sides, with scorelines of 7-8 and 8-7 on their Counter-Terrorist and Terrorist sides, respectively. They managed to secure a 19-17 victory, thanks in part to Tomáš “oskar” Šťastný’s one HP fail.

North lived up to fan expectations in their match against NRG Esports on Cobblestone. Despite losing the first pistol round, the Danes dominated with a 14-round streak on their Counter-Terrorist side. North sealed the victory through two straightforward full save buys. K0nfig played a crucial role with 26 total kills, nine AWP kills, five entry frags, and an average damage per round of 118.0.

The final match of the day on Mirage against Natus Vincere also resulted in a strong win for North. Excellent defenses and successful site executes kept the game competitive, but North managed to surge ahead and secure a victory with a 16-13 scoreline. K0nfig remained a dominant presence on the scoreboard with 93.1 ADR and 28 kills.

K0nfig proved to be North’s most valuable player throughout the day, contributing 84 kills and an impressive 47.6% headshot percentage in their three matches.

North finished day one with a perfect 3-0 record, closely followed by Team Liquid at 2-1. Mousesports and OpTic Gaming are tied at 1-1, while Na’Vi sits at 1-2. NRG holds the last place in the group with an 0-3 record.

Similar to Group A’s SK Gaming, North remains undefeated at the ESL Pro League Finals with a 3-0 record. They have the opportunity to maintain a perfect group stage performance as they face off against OpTic Gaming and Team Liquid in upcoming matches.
