Day Two of StarSeries Season Five Ends with Surprising Upsets
The second day of StarSeries Season Five concluded with unexpected losses for two prominent teams, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Renegades.
Among the notable matches of the day, underdogs AGO Esports defeated NiP, while HellRaisers emerged victorious against Renegades. AGO Esports had recently gained momentum by defeating their domestic rivals, Virtus Pro, and carried that confidence into their match against NiP. On the other hand, HellRaisers aimed to redeem themselves after a loss to NiP in a previous match.

Renegades and HR exchanged victories on Inferno and Mirage, respectively, thanks to their strong T sides. This led to similar scorelines in both games. However, HR dominated in map three, Train, with a crushing 16-1 win, securing their 1-1 record in the tournament. Renegades struggled with their T sides on Mirage and Train, while HR’s Bence “DeadFox” Borocz made significant contributions in the latter two maps.
In a surprising turn of events, AGO outperformed NiP on their chosen map, Train, winning the series 2-0. NiP managed to keep the game close initially, but after AGO won the second pistol round, they struggled to gain any momentum and eventually lost 16-10. AGO then secured a solid victory on Mirage, with Michal “snatchie” Rudzki of AGO dominating with 25 kills per map. Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg was the lone standout performer for NiP throughout the series.
