Next month, the ECS finals to be held at Wembley in London

The Esports Championship Series Finals Announce Location

The finals for the Esports Championship Series (ECS) is just around the corner, now Twitch and FACEIT have announced its location.

The Counter-Strike league, a joint initiative between Twitch and FACEIT, was launched just last month. It is the first professional esports league to offer its teams co-ownership, following a traditional sports league model.

ECS has a total of 20 teams, with 10 in North America and 10 in Europe, all competing for their share of $3.5 million. The included teams are Astralis, Team Dignitas, EnVyUs, FaZe, Fnatic, G2 Esports, mousesports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Virtus Pro, Counter Logic Gaming, Cloud9, compLexity, Echo Fox, Luminosity Gaming, NRG eSports, OpTic Gaming, Team Liquid, Team SoloMid, and Without a Roof. Natus Vincere was originally slated to play in the ECS but pulled out at the last minute.

Astralis and FaZe currently top the European standings with four wins each, but mousesports and Virtus are close behind. Meanwhile, Luminosity and Counter Logic top the American board with nine and five wins respectively, while Cloud9 and OpTic chase their lead. Luminosity is the only team in both regions to avoid picking up a loss throughout the first ECS season.

The ECS finals will see the top four European and American teams heading over to London’s SSE Arena in Wembley from June 24 to 26. Tickets are now on sale and the event is open to the public. The SSE Arena is a storied venue that has hosted performances by popular artists such as Madonna, Beyoncé, and several Olympic events.

If you can’t attend the finals in person, they will also be streamed on FACEIT’s Twitch channel.
