Na`Vi and NRG Esports qualify for StarSeries playoffs

Natus Vincere and NRG Esports Secure Quarterfinal Spots in StarSeries 5

In the ongoing StarSeries 5 tournament, Natus Vincere and NRG Esports have advanced to the quarterfinals with convincing performances in their matches.

The first two matches of the day were smooth sailing for both teams, as they emerged victorious in just two maps.

Na`Vi vs. AVANGAR

The matchup between Na`Vi and AVANGAR started on Mirage, AVANGAR’s preferred map. AVANGAR showed resilience against their more experienced opponents, with both teams exchanging good rounds. At halftime, Na`Vi held a narrow 8-7 lead. Despite AVANGAR’s efforts to push forward after winning the pistol round, Na`Vi took control and won three of the next four rounds, ultimately closing out the game 16-13.

NRG Esports vs. Renegades

NRG Esports had a comfortable journey to the playoffs, facing off against Renegades. Renegades had previously defeated weaker teams, Gambit and Virtus Pro, while NRG had remained undefeated since their round two loss to North. On the first map, Cache, NRG dominated the first half and finished 11-4. Although Renegades tried to mount a comeback, NRG secured a 16-11 victory. Moving on to Overpass, NRG’s momentum carried through as they led the way throughout the entire map. They dominated their CT side, winning seven out of the next eight rounds and didn’t give Renegades a chance.

With Natus Vincere and NRG Esports claiming their quarterfinal spots, the stage is set for tomorrow’s single elimination quarterfinals. The final match of the Swiss stage between GODSENT and North will take place soon.
