Mixwell departs from G2 Esports following three-month trial with the squad

Spanish CS:GO Star, mixwell, Leaves G2 Esports – But Could Return Soon

G2 Esports has announced that Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas, the former in-game leader for the team, has left the organization. However, there is still a chance that he may rejoin the team in the future as they are currently working on forming a new lineup.

Mixwell, who joined G2 as a temporary replacement for Richard “shox” Papillon on March 9, has been given permission to explore new teams and opportunities after his trial period with G2 expired. Unfortunately, his time with the team lasted less than three months.

While mixwell’s tweet suggests that he is officially done with the team, G2’s announcement indicates that he is still being considered for a spot on the team. G2 stated, “The decision-making process to define the final line-up that will represent G2 Esports moving forward has started. While this occurs, we wish to give Oscar the opportunity to explore any options on the market… We have no doubts that he will find success in the upcoming years, regardless whether he ends up in G2’s final lineup or not.”

G2’s Struggles in 2018

In 2017, G2 assembled a talented roster with players like Kenny “kennyS” Schrub, shox, and Dan “apEX” Madesclaire. However, despite their star power, the team has not been able to secure any event titles. Shox’s hand injury led to mixwell joining the team as a temporary replacement, but unfortunately, their results have remained stagnant.

G2’s Current Roster and Future

There have been reports suggesting that the French organization is losing confidence in its current roster. Initially, it was believed that the team would have until the FACEIT Valve Major in September to improve, but that may no longer be the case. G2 will be participating in the upcoming Esports Championship Series finals in London with a new roster.
