Misfits bench ShahZam prior to the American Minor tournament

Roster Change for Misfits Ahead of American Minors Championship

Just one week before the American Minors Championship, a favorite team at the event is making a roster change.

The Misfits roster, led by Sean “seangares” Gares, will be competing without founding player Shahzeeb “ShahZaM” Khan at the Minor.

Due to the absence of in-game leader seangares at the tournament, the North American roster will have two stand-ins. Skyler “Relyks” Weaver has been selected to fill in for seangares.

ShahZaM has played with Misfits for about a year when they competed for Echo Fox. However, after a series of poor performances, the Echo Fox squad disbanded.

Most of the roster joined TSM on December 14 last year. But internal issues between the players and the organization led to the entire squad being transferred to Misfits a month later.

The decision to remove ShahZaM from the roster was due to his inability to regularly be present at the team’s gaming house.

“We have decided it is in the best interest of the team to have someone present, which will yield the most productive bootcamp possible as we focus on this important event,” said Misfits CEO Ben Spoont to SlingShot Esports.

ShahZaM’s position will be taken by Caio “zqk” Fonseca, who will join on a trial basis. With the addition of French players David “devoduvek” Dobrosavljevic and François “AmaNEk” Delaunay in April, Hunter “SicK” Mims is now the only original roster member who has yet to lose his spot on the team.
