Misfits and CLG Withdraw from the ESL Pro League

ESL Reveals Teams for Season 7 Pro League

ESL has announced the teams that will be participating in its upcoming 10-week pro league. Unfortunately, Misfits and CLG will not be part of the competition this season.

Misfits and CLG failed to renew their licenses in time, resulting in a reduction of teams in the North American region from 14 to 12. However, the European region will still have 14 teams. ESL plans to make adjustments to the structure of the season seven finals to accommodate this change.

This situation could have significant implications for the future of Misfits in CS:GO. Currently, the team only consists of two players: Francois “AmaNEk” Delauney and David “devoduvek” Dobrosavljevic. After the organization chose not to renew the contracts of Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan, Sean “sgares” Gares, and Hunter “SicK” Mims, they became free agents following their elimination at the Boston Major last month.

Misfits may be evaluating its position within the Counter-Strike scene. There are possibilities of the organization leaving the scene altogether or transitioning to the European region and building a team around the remaining French players. No official statement has been made by the organization regarding its future plans yet.

On the other hand, CLG did not maintain its spot in the ESL Pro League for clear reasons. The organization released its main squad and academy team in November, but kept its female roster mainly due to the economics of the sport.
