LDLC Reportedly Benches Ex6tenz, Recruits xms from Envy

Ex6tenz Departs from Team LDLC After Two Years

Belgian player Kevin “Ex6tenz” Droolans has announced his departure from Team LDLC, according to a recent statement he made on Twitter. After spending two years with the French team, Ex6tenz will be moving on from his role as the in-game leader.

Team LDLC has decided to bench Ex6tenz in favor of Alexandre “xms” Forte, who previously played for Team Envy. The decision comes after xms was replaced on FaZe Clan by Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey. Xms will now join LDLC as their newest fifth player for Season Seven of the ESL Pro League. The responsibility of in-game leader will be taken over by Timothée “DEVIL” Démolon following Ex6tenz’s departure.

Ex6tenz expressed his exhaustion from his time on LDLC. He felt burdened as the team struggled tactically, failing to qualify for both the PGL Major Offline Qualifier and the ELEAGUE Major: Boston. Ex6tenz’s last participation in a Valve Major tournament was in 2016 at MLG Columbus, when he was playing for G2 Esports alongside his former Titan teammates.

In a tweet, Ex6tenz stated, “I absolutely gave all my energy to this project and I can’t hide it was two exhausting years. I have been demanding with my players and sometimes I have been very tough with some of them, especially with the first versions and it created some resentment, but it was for good reasons.”

Ex6tenz’s departure from LDLC comes just before the ESL Pro League roster lock, leaving him without a team at the start of Season Seven. LDLC narrowly avoided relegation to the ESEA Premier division in the past two seasons, thanks in part to Ex6tenz’s contributions.
