Jkaem Joins Renegades as Temporary Addition to Lineup

Another Scandinavian player from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has joined a North American team for 2018.

Detroit-based esports team Renegades has added Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad to their roster during the ongoing offseason. The Norwegian player will be competing with Renegades in the upcoming season of ESL Pro League, starting on Feb. 13.

Jkaem’s addition to the team is temporary, joining the existing Australian trio of Aaron “AZR” Ward, Justin “jks” Savage, and Karlo “USTILO” Pivac, along with American Noah “Nifty” Francis.

This acquisition comes two months after Jkaem was removed from Team Dignitas, as the organization decided to disband its European CS:GO roster. Dignitas has opted to pick up a North American roster instead, signing the team formerly known as SoaR Gaming.

Although Jkaem had early success in his professional career with G2 Esports and FaZe Clan, he didn’t achieve any notable results with Team Dignitas in 2017 due to roster issues.

Jkaem is the fourth Scandinavian player to move to the U.S. following the conclusion of the ELEAGUE Major: Boston. Danish players René “cajunb” Borg, Jacob “k0nfig” Wienecke, and Nicklas “gade” Gade are the core members of the new OpTic Gaming roster announced recently.
