Immortals and Cloud9 Make It Through the PGL America Minor

Immortals and Cloud9 Secure Spots at PGL Major Krakow Offline Qualifier

Immortals and Cloud9 have successfully punched their tickets to the PGL Major Krakow Offline Qualifier after an intense weekend of competition against lower tier North American teams.

The Brazilian team, Immortals, dominated the America Minor qualifying stages without dropping a single map. They defeated compLexity Gaming (16-8 on Cache) and Luminosity Gaming (16-5 on Overpass) in the group stage, going undefeated with a 2-0 record. They later swept CLG and Cloud9 in the playoff bracket to secure their spot at the qualifier.

A standout player in Immortals’ victory over Cloud9 was Lucas Teles, who maintained an impressive average damage per round of 109.4 and a headshot percentage of 46.8% across two maps: Train (16-8) and Cache (16-9). Immortals will be the sole Brazilian representative at the offline qualifier.

Meanwhile, Cloud9, the beloved North American team, narrowly avoided missing out on another major tournament with a series of clutch wins against CLG. They secured victories against paiN Gaming (16-1 on Train) and CLG (16-12 on Mirage) in the group stage, and swept Luminosity 2-0 in the semifinals. Although they lost to Immortals in the upper bracket finals, they redeemed themselves with a 2-0 triumph (16-12 on Inferno; 16-8 on Cache) over CLG in the consolation finals. Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham also made an impressive one-versus-five clutch on Cache against Immortals. Had Cloud9 lost to CLG, this would have been their third consecutive major absence.

Immortals and Cloud9 will be joined by Tengri, Vega Squadron, TyLoo, Renegades, GODSENT, G2 Esports, Team Liquid, OpTic Gaming, HellRaisers, mousesports, and FlipSid3 Tactics at the PGL Major Krakow Offline Qualifier, which will take place at the end of June.

Tengri and Vega Squadron qualified through the PGL CIS Minor, while TyLoo and Renegades secured their spots through the PGL Asia Minor. The remaining teams had already earned their spots at the offline qualifier due to their top 16 placements at January’s ELEAGUE Major in Atlanta, Georgia.

The field for the PGL Major Krakow’s Offline Qualifier will be finalized after the upcoming PGL European Minor. Three spots at the offline qualifier are still up for grabs, and the event will be held from June 29 to July 2 in Krakow, Poland.
