ImAPet, Counter-Strike coach of CLG, departs from the team

CLG’s Head Coach ImAPet Departs After Seven Months

Chet “ImAPet” Singh has left his role as head coach of CLG’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team after a seven month-long tenure. He is now on the lookout for another team to join.

ImAPet’s departure comes as a result of other teams expressing interest in him. He has decided to pursue those opportunities.

Singh, reflecting on his time with CLG, said, “I’ve been with CLG since the team was at its lowest point to the team it is now. CLG as an organization has also grown. I am happy with what we’ve accomplished, but not satisfied. I still have the same goal in mind, which is to produce the best NA team that can compete internationally and consistently in majors.”

In the meantime, CLG will have Mike Schwartz, the organization’s CS:GO player development coach, serving as the interim head coach. Schwartz will work closely with Pujan “FNS” Mehta to restructure the team’s play following ImAPet’s departure before Dreamhack Valencia.

The announcement comes a week after CLG’s impressive performance at Dreamhack Summer, where they placed in the top four ahead of teams like mousesports, Gambit Esports, and Cloud9. However, the team will not be participating in the ongoing PGL Krakow Major Qualifier due to their underwhelming performance at the North American Minor Qualifier.

As for ImAPet’s future, he is rumored to potentially join Misfits or OpTic Gaming, as both teams are currently seeking new coaches.
