IEM Katowice’s CS:GO tournament promises an incredible experience

Final Invitations to IEM Katowice’s CS:GO Finals Announced

FaZe Clan and North, the esports venture of Danish soccer club FC Copenhagen, have been invited to participate in the upcoming IEM Katowice’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive finals. These two teams have displayed impressive performances in various LAN events towards the end of 2016. They will be facing off against some of the world’s strongest teams during the tournament from Mar. 1-5.

Last Invitations before the Event

The invitations to the event are now complete with the addition of these two teams. However, there will be four more teams added through online qualifiers. Three European teams and one North American team will be joining the already stacked lineup of Brazil’s SK Gaming, Poland’s Virtus Pro, and Denmark’s Astralis. This will make the competition even fiercer than before.

North’s Struggle and FaZe’s Success

In October 2016, North (previously signed to Dignitas) emerged victorious at the $500,000 EPICENTER event in Moscow, where the world’s top teams competed. However, their performance has been inconsistent since then, falling short at most of the recent events they participated in. On the other hand, FaZe has seen improvement after adding former Astralis in-game leader Finn “Karrigan” Andersen to their roster. Since his arrival, FaZe has achieved better results and become stronger with each event.

IEM Katowice, which will take place about a month after the ELEAGUE Major, is expected to be a platform for several new rosters to make their debut. Therefore, it is anticipated to be one of the biggest CS:GO events of the year. Be sure to keep an eye on it!
