Glock-18 receives buffs in CS:GO September update, P250 undergoes balance adjustments

Glock-18 and P250 Revamped in Latest CS:GO Update

Valve has recently made significant changes to two pistols in the latest CS:GO update. The Glock-18, a starting pistol for terrorists, has received a buff, while the P250 eco pistol has undergone multiple adjustments.

The Glock-18 now boasts increased base damage, improved rapid fire accuracy, improved moving accuracy, and reduced damage drop-off at range. On the other hand, the P250 has increased base damage, improved damage at range, reduced armor penetration, and reduced moving accuracy.

These adjustments mark the third and fourth pistols to be tweaked as part of Valve’s plan to prioritize skillful use of the weapons. Previously, the Tec-9 and Five-Seven had also been revamped.

Valve implemented the change to the Glock-18 to reward players with better gun skill at close range. However, it also inadvertently encourages terrorists to engage in five-man bomb rushes, making it easier for them to win the opening rounds.

The P250 adjustments, on the other hand, aim to favor players in ambitious aim duels against unarmored opponents. It’s worth noting that the P250 can no longer one-tap players with a headshot, according to SlothSquadron’s in-depth analysis of the update.

Additionally, Valve has reduced unarmored aimpunch, which means that armor is now less essential in pistol rounds. In the past, players would prioritize buying armor over grenades or pistols, but with the changes to the Glock-18 and P250, the meta is expected to shift towards the latter options.

This beta update will undergo testing by the community and is likely to be implemented into the game in the upcoming weeks.
