Former Winterfox roster disqualified from ESL Pro League

Former Winterfox Roster Disqualified from ESL Pro League Season

The former Winterfox roster, which consisted of players from Australia and New Zealand, has been disqualified from the ongoing season of the ESL Pro League. This ruling comes after the team, now known as Animal Squad, inherited the league slot from the North American organization. However, due to visa issues, the team was forced to play matches from Australia, which ultimately led to their disqualification.

No More Games for Animal Squad

Animal Squad is currently facing “lineup issues” and as a result, they will be forfeiting their remaining two games of the season. Since they have already forfeited two previous matches, the team is now disqualified from the competition and will not receive any prize money earned throughout the season.

Struggles in ESL Pro League

Animal Squad had little success in the North American division of the ESL Pro League, only winning two maps in the nine weeks they competed. With their disqualification, it is unclear what will happen to their former tournament slot. The team was already headed for a bottom placement in the league, which would result in their demotion to ESEA Premier.

Upcoming Finals and Conclusion

The ESL Pro League Season 5 group stage will wrap up on May 11. Six teams from each region will advance to the LAN finals in Dallas, scheduled from May 31 to June 4.
