Fnatic glides past Gambit into the ELEAGUE Major semifinals

Fnatic Advances to Semifinals of ELEAGUE Major

Legendary esports team Fnatic has secured a spot in the semifinals of the ELEAGUE Major tournament for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Fnatic eliminated underdogs Gambit in a three-map series at the Valve Major, with the Swedish team proving their dominance in the maps they won. However, Gambit put up a strong fight during the second game of the series.

The match started on Cache, where Gambit initially seemed to have the upper hand after winning the opening pistol round. But Fnatic’s Joakim “disco doplan” Gidetun turned the tide by taking down three Gambit players with his desert eagle, disrupting their momentum. Fnatic maintained their lead throughout the map, thanks to an outstanding performance by Simon “twist” Eliasson.

Gambit fought back on Overpass, only allowing Fnatic to win three rounds in total.

However, on the deciding map Dust2, Fnatic dominated from the beginning, winning the first eight rounds in a row. Despite a valiant effort by Gambit, Fnatic lost only one round in the final half, securing a resounding 16-7 victory.

After a period of international underperformance, Fnatic seems to have regained their form just in time for the ELEAGUE Major. They will now face Astralis in the semifinals of the $1 million event tomorrow.
