Finalized Team List for the Americas Minor Closed Qualifier

Six Teams Advance to Americas Minor for FACEIT London Major

The North American online closed qualifier for the Americas Minor took place this weekend, and six teams have advanced to the next stage of the FACEIT London Major.

CompLexity Gaming, NRG Esports, Rogue Gaming, eUnited, Team Dignitas, and Swole Patrol will represent the NA region at the Americas Minor in London from July 7 to 11. They’ll join South American contenders Nao Tem Como (NTC) and Furia Esports in the team pool for the offline event.

CoL and NRG dominated the Swiss format qualifier, with perfect 3-0 records, earning them the top two seeds in the regional Minor. CoL defeated Mythic, Dignitas, and Ghost Gaming, while NRG took down Freedom 35, Luminosity Gaming, and Rogue. CoL’s flawless run can be credited to their new recruits Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz and Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan.

Rogue, eUnited, and Dignitas finished with strong 3-1 records, securing the third, fourth, and fifth seeds in the Americas Minor.

Swole Patrol secured the final spot, narrowly beating out Brazilian hopefuls Luminosity Gaming and Team One. As only six teams can advance, the sixth place spot was determined by map win-loss records and round differential. This differs from the typical 16-team Swiss format, which allows eight teams to move on.

Unfortunately, notable teams Boxr (ex-Splyce), Ghost Gaming, and Mythic did not make it to the Minor. Boxr and Ghost had 2-3 records, while Mythic failed to win a single match, finishing with an 0-3 record. Ghost’s losses can be forgiven as the team played with coach James “JamezIRL” Macaulay in place of Josh “steel” Nissan, who is banned from Valve Majors.

The European closed qualifier will be the next set of qualifiers for the London Major. It will take place online from June 29 to July 1.
