Felps joins SK Gaming, fnx set for Immortals competition

Brazilian Super Squad SK Gaming Completes Roster

After two months without a dedicated fifth player, the Brazilian super squad SK Gaming has finally completed its roster.

SK Gaming has traded Immortals’ João “felps” Vasconcellos for the former lurker of the two-time Valve Major champions, Lincoln “fnx” Lau.

Fnx’s Contributions and SK Gaming’s Stagnation

Fnx, who joined SK Gaming in November 2015, played a vital role in the team’s success throughout 2016, including victories at both Valve Major events, MLG Columbus and ESL One Cologne.

However, following their triumph at ESL One Cologne, SK Gaming’s performance started to decline, leading to fnx being benched by the organization on December 3. For the ELEAGUE Major, SK Gaming chose to compete with a stand-in, former FaZe Clan AWPer Ricardo “fox” Pancheo.

Felps, although ineligible to compete at the event with any other team due to his participation in the Major offline qualifiers with Immortals, was the player SK Gaming had their eye on.

SK Gaming CEO on the Roster Change

Alexander Muller, CEO of SK Gaming, expressed his satisfaction with the solution. “Lincoln is a legendary player and was instrumental in last year’s success of the team,” said Muller. “Our focus in the past eight weeks was to find a solution that benefits everyone involved.”

Muller added, “Felps was the player we wanted to add to the roster. He performed exceptionally well in 2016, and we hope he will continue to have a significant impact on our game by buying him out of his contract with Immortals.”

The move was not surprising, as fnx was seen competing with Immortals in the IEM Katowice qualifiers against Team Liquid.

Debut Series for SK Gaming with Felps

With felps on board, SK Gaming will play their debut series in the upcoming season of the ESL Pro League.
