The ECS season four finals: Playoff picture confirmed after day two
The second day of competition at the ECS season four finals concluded today, with the playoff picture determined in the closing group matches.
FaZe Clan and Mousesports secured their spots in the semifinals after defeating Luminosity Gaming, OpTic Gaming, and Cloud9 in best-of-three matches. Mousesports swept Luminosity and OpTic with 2-0 victories, while FaZe Clan did the same against Cloud9 in their only match of the day.

In the opening matches, Mousesports dominated Luminosity on Train (16-9) and Nuke (16-3) in the Group A losers match. They then faced OpTic on the same maps, with OpTic putting up a tougher fight. Robin “ropz” Kool performed exceptionally well against OpTic, achieving 27 kills per map and an average damage per round of 101.5 across both maps (Nuke 16-7 and Train 16-12).
Group B, which was the more competitive pool, concluded with similar outcomes, resulting in both North American teams being eliminated from the tournament. Although Cloud9 narrowly defeated Team Liquid on Mirage (16-14) and Inferno (16-10), they could not maintain their momentum in the group decider match against FaZe Clan. The European powerhouse’s firepower overwhelmed Cloud9, with Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer, Nikola “NiKo” Kovac, and Håvard “rain” Nygaard outperforming Cloud9’s star players. Both Mirage (16-8) and Overpass (16-11) favored FaZe Clan, who had previously lost to Astralis in the winners match yesterday.
Mousesports will face Astralis in the first semifinal tomorrow at 9:15am ET, followed by FaZe Clan vs. Fnatic at 12:15pm ET. The grand finals will feature the winners of both matches in the last international grand finals of the year at 3:15pm ET.
