Exploring the Thoughts of the Organizer Behind the Infamous CS:GO Event

Unveiling the Catastrophe that was Gaming Paradise

Sasa Bulic, the man behind perhaps the worst Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event ever, recently shed some light on the disastrous Gaming Paradise event in an unintentional interview.

The event, which took place in Slovenia from Sept. 6 to 13, promised multiple competitive tournaments with a combined prize fund of over $100,000 and accommodations covered by the hosts. However, attendees quickly realized that something was amiss.

Trouble from the Start

Even before the event began, teams faced difficulties. The money meant for booking flights took an unusually long time to process, and the credit card used for booking flights had a low daily limit, leaving many attendees to pay for their own flights out-of-pocket.

Upon arriving at the hotel, teams discovered that the accommodation did not meet expectations. Virtus Pro and Mousesports, for example, were promised multiple apartment-sized rooms but instead found themselves confined to solitary bungalows.

Additionally, the computers required for the tournament went missing, with conflicting reports suggesting they were either stolen or confiscated due to non-payment. As a result, the tournament faced significant delays.

The Fallout

The Dota 2 tournament, scheduled to run after the Counter-Strike event, was eventually cancelled due to the numerous problems. Hotel staff confronted players about unpaid bills, leading to the confiscation of passports and the involvement of local police and international embassies. The tournament was ultimately a disaster, and many players did not receive the prize money they were owed.

It’s clear that the organizers of Gaming Paradise were ill-prepared and lacking in experience. The event was marked by incompetence and a lack of transparency, leaving many players and attendees with a bitter taste in their mouths.

Despite the difficulties, Bulic still believes his efforts were commendable: “It was my first event, and I still did much better than anybody around,” he claimed. However, his failure to deliver on promises and handle the event’s many challenges indicates a lack of competency.

In the end, Gaming Paradise was a cautionary tale that illustrates the importance of experienced professionals in organizing and running esports events. It also highlights the need for transparency and accountability to protect the integrity of the industry.
