Thoughts and Predictions for iBUYPOWER Masters
I will be sharing my thoughts and predictions for the iBUYPOWER Masters event. With a $100,000 prize pool and spots at IEM Oakland on the line, the competition will be fierce.
The Eight Teams Competing
Here are the eight teams racing for the spots at IEM Oakland:
Cloud9 is the favorite to qualify, having recently won the biggest international event for a North American team in 10 years. FaZe Clan, with their roster shuffle and new additions, also looks promising. Immortals, with roster changes, could improve their performance. However, the competition is tough, and nothing is guaranteed.
Group A and Group B
Group A: FlipSid3, TyLoo, Echo Fox, Cloud9
Group B: Team SoloMid, Renegades, Immortals, FaZe Clan
Group A seems easier because of the weaker teams like Echo Fox. Cloud9 is expected to dominate this group and secure a spot in the grand finals. TyLoo, with their strong performance in recent events, should secure second place. FlipSid3 and Echo Fox are not expected to pose a serious threat.
Group B is the “group of death” with tough competition. Renegades, Immortals, and FaZe Clan are all strong teams. Team SoloMid could also cause some upsets. It will be an intense battle to secure a spot in the grand finals for this group.
TyLoo and Renegades
TyLoo is Tantalizingly Close: TyLoo, the top team in China, has been dominating events in their region. They recently defeated Team Liquid and Luminosity at DreamHack Malmo, proving their potential on a global scale. This event could be their stepping stone to success. They have a good chance to progress in their group and potentially perform well at IEM Oakland.
Australia’s Renegades: Renegades has been performing well in the ESL Pro League and other events, consistently teasing their full potential. With a strong lineup and recent improvements, they have a good chance to progress from their group. If they play to their strengths and make good map picks, they could also do damage at IEM Oakland.
Final Placing Predictions
- Cloud9 – $20,000, IEM Spot
- TyLoo – $15,000, IEM Spot
- FaZe Clan – $12,500, IEM Spot
- Renegades – $12,500, IEM Spot
- Immortals – $10,000
- FlipSid3 – $10,000
- Team SoloMid – $10,000
- Echo Fox – $10,000
These are my predictions, and I have some doubts about Immortals’ performance.
