EnVyUs, G2 Esports, and Hellraisers Secure Spots in ELEAGUE Major

EnVyUs, G2 Esports, and Hellraisers have successfully qualified for January’s ELEAGUE Major after winning the final round of qualifying matches.

Hellraisers avoided a disappointing slide from 2-0 to 2-3 by defeating Cloud9 in their final match. This victory marks Hellraisers’ first Major appearance since March 2015 at ESL Katowice.

Cloud9 put up a tough fight against Hellraisers in their final game on Overpass. Both teams traded rounds back and forth, with no clear lead. However, Hellraisers seized the opportunity at the right moment, winning three consecutive rounds and securing a 16-13 victory.

For Cloud9, this result is reminiscent of their defeat to G2 Esports in the ESL One Cologne qualifier.

G2 Esports faced a challenging match against Immortals in the final round. Despite Immortals’ players performing well, G2 managed to win crucial pistol rounds and forcebuys, ultimately taking the victory in overtime.

EnVyUs had a seemingly easier matchup against Vega Squadron. However, Vega Squadron showcased their potential after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas in the previous match. Despite a close call from Vega, EnVyUs performed solidly and prevented an upset.

The final three teams, EnVyUs, G2 Esports, and Hellraisers, will join GODSENT, FaZe Clan, Mousesports, OpTic Gaming, and Team Dignitas in the $1 million ELEAGUE Major. They will compete against the top eight teams from ESL One Cologne: Fnatic, Team Liquid, SK Gaming, Virtus Pro, Flipsid3 Tactics, Astralis, Gambit Esports, and Natus Vincere.
