DreamHack Masters Las Vegas: Eight Teams Remain in $450,000 CS:GO Tournament

The 16 teams at DreamHack Masters Las Vegas have been reduced to just eight as they move on to the playoffs of the $450,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament.

Ninjas in Pyjamas, North, Virtus Pro, and Natus Vincere secured the last four spots in the final eight after intense best-of-three elimination matches to conclude the group stage.

Na`Vi Defeats FaZe Clan in Nail-Biting Series

Na`Vi emerged victorious in a closely contested series against FaZe Clan, winning 2-1. In the first map, Mirage, Na`Vi dominated with a 13-2 lead at halftime and eventually secured a 16-6 win. Despite a remarkable eco win from FaZe towards the end, Na`Vi proved too strong. Nuke, the second map, started similarly with Na`Vi taking a 6-1 lead. However, FaZe fought back and won 16-13 to force a third map. On Train, Na`Vi established a strong lead and emerged victorious with a 16-11 scoreline, eliminating FaZe from the tournament.

NiP Overcomes Initial Setback to Reach Quarterfinals

Ninjas in Pyjamas faced an early setback against Cloud9 but bounced back to secure a spot in the quarterfinals. Cloud9 dominated the first game on Cobblestone, winning 16-2. However, NiP made an impressive comeback on Train, winning 16-6. The third map on Cache saw a closely contested match, with NiP eventually winning 16-13.

North and Virtus Pro Secure Convincing Wins

North redeemed themselves against OpTic Gaming, winning 2-0 with a scoreline of 16-2 and 16-7. Virtus Pro also secured an easy victory against Fnatic.

These eight teams will now enter a single elimination playoff, with SK Gaming facing Na`Vi, Gambit Esports meeting North, Astralis taking on Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Mousesports battling Virtus Pro.
