DreamHack Marseille playoff picture solidified by FaZe, Mouz, Fnatic, and Gambit

Four Teams Advance to DreamHack Masters Marseille Playoffs

The group stage at DreamHack Masters Marseille has come to a close, and four teams have emerged victorious, securing their spots in the playoff bracket. FaZe Clan, Mousesports, Renegades, and Gambit Esports have all advanced, leaving Team Envy, SK Gaming, Renegades, and Team Liquid with top-12 finishes.

Intense Match Between Gambit and Liquid

The most exciting match of the day featured Gambit and Liquid. Liquid had a shaky performance throughout the series, potentially due to the addition of Epitacio “TACO” de Melo to their lineup. The match came down to round 30 in map three, with Gambit’s Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev and Abay “Hobbit” Khasenov securing a two-vs-four match-winning clutch, eliminating the North American squad.

Expected Results in Other Decider Matches

In the other decider matches, FaZe and Fnatic faced off against Envy and Renegades, respectively. Despite some difficulties, both FaZe and Fnatic were able to sweep their opponents. FaZe’s Richard “xizt” Landstrom had strong performances in his first decider matches with the team, while Fnatic’s Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson led his team with 28 kills per map against Renegades.

However, SK Gaming struggled against Mousesports, revealing weaknesses in their new roster. With the recent addition of Jake “Stewie2k” Yip and the consistent performance of Marcelo “coldzera” David, SK Gaming faced growing pains during the match.

Playoff Match Schedule

The quarterfinal matches will feature Natus Vincere vs. Mousesports, Cloud9 vs. Gambit Esports, Astralis vs. FaZe, and Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Fnatic. The matches will take place on a rolling schedule starting at 3am CT. The semifinals and grand finals of DreamHack Marseille will be held on Sunday, April 22 in Le Dome de Marseille.
