Dev1ce to miss the rest of the year, set to return for the Boston Major

Nicolai “Dev1ce” Reedtz Will Be Absent from CS:GO for Rest of 2017

Astralis’ star player, Nicolai “Dev1ce” Reedtz, known for his exceptional skills in the game, will not be participating in any competitive CS:GO matches for the remainder of this year.

Earlier today on Twitter, Dev1ce confirmed that his medical leave has been extended until the end of 2017. As a result, he will be unable to take part in the upcoming ESL Pro League Season Six Finals and the ECS Season Four Finals. However, there is hope for his return to the team at the Boston Major in January 2018, if his medical condition improves.

It is believed that Dev1ce’s prolonged absence may be due to complications stemming from a Hiatal Hernia, which he was diagnosed with in March.

According to a Twitter statement by the organization, “Dev1ce had a relapse and was taken to the hospital for a medical check-up” after IEM Oakland earlier this month. The decision was made to send him home for further evaluations and to allow him to rest.

In light of Dev1ce’s health issues, Astralis decided, as a team, to return to Denmark during IEM Oakland. This was done to prioritize the health of both Dev1ce and Peter “dupreeh” Rothmann. As a result, the three remaining Astralis players were fined by ESL for failing to fulfill their media and fan obligations.

Since Dev1ce took a medical leave, Astralis has brought in Dennis Edman of GODSENT and former Team Liquid AWPer Jacob “Pimp” Winneche to substitute for him. Dennis achieved a second-place finish with Astralis at the recent BLAST Pro Series, while Pimp’s inclusion helped Astralis qualify for the ECS Season Four Finals in Cancun, Mexico. It is expected that Pimp will continue to play alongside the Danish team at the $750,000 Finals, as his contribution led to their qualification by securing fourth place in the European region.

There is uncertainty regarding Astralis’ participation in the ESL Pro League Finals from December 5th to 10th, as they have filed an appeal with WESA, ESL’s governing body, in relation to the use of Dennis at the event.
