CS:GO Top 10 World Rankings by Thorin – 20th July 2016

CS:GO World Rankings: Latest Update

CS:GO’s World Rankings can be confusing and inconsistent with so many teams participating in different events. To simplify the process, I have analyzed the recent performance of each team and ranked them accordingly. Here are the top 10 teams in the global rankings as of July 20, 2016.

Factors Considered for Rankings

I only consider offline results, taking into account a team’s performance over a three-month period. Recent results are given more weight compared to older ones. Factors such as tournament finishes, consistency, current form, and strength of opponents are taken into consideration.

Recent Tournaments

Since the previous rankings update, several tournaments have taken place including the ELEAGUE group stage, ESL One Cologne, and the ELEAGUE Last Chance Qualifier.

Without further ado, here are the latest CS:GO World Rankings:

1. SK Gaming (coldzera, FalleN, fer, fnx and TACO) [-]

Recent form:
DreamHack Austin (1st)
ESL ProLeague S3 Finals (1st)
ELEAGUE S1 Group A (1st)
ECS S1 (2nd)
ESL One Cologne (1st)

SK Gaming remains at the top spot in the rankings, solidifying their position as the best team in CS:GO. Their consistent performances and recent tournament wins demonstrate their dominance and establish the SK Gaming era.

2. G2 (shox, SmithZz, bodyy, ScreaM and RpK) [+2]

Recent form:
ESL ProLeague S3 Finals (2nd)
ELEAGUE S1 Group B (2nd)
ESL One Cologne Qualifier (Qual’d)
ECS S1 (1st)
ESL One Cologne (13th-16th)

Despite a disappointing performance at the major, G2 moves up in the rankings due to their strong showings in recent tournaments. Their consistency and wins over top-ranked teams make them a formidable contender.

Noteworthy is their impressive performance against SK Gaming, winning five maps in the past three months, which is no small feat considering SK’s dominance at the major.

3. FNATIC (KRiMZ, JW, olofm, Flusha and dennis) [+2]

Recent form:
ESL ProLeague S3 Finals (3rd-4th)
ELEAGUE S1 Group D (1st)
ECS S1 (3rd-4th)
ESL One Cologne (3rd-4th)

Despite a minor setback against Team Liquid at the major, FNATIC managed to secure a top-four finish and advance from a challenging group. Their consistent performances in international competitions boost their rank in the top three, at least for now.

With fewer tournaments taking place after the major, the rankings from this point onwards become more uncertain.

4. Team Liquid (s1mple, Hiko, nitr0, EliGE and JDM) [NEW]

Recent form:
DreamHack Austin (3rd-4th)
ESL ProLeague S3 Finals (5th-6th)
ELEAGUE S1 Group A (3rd-4th)
ECS S1 (5th-6th)
ESL One Cologne (2nd)

Team Liquid’s remarkable performance at the major, finishing as the runners-up, makes them a new entry in the top ten rankings. Their victories over Na’Vi and FNATIC in best-of-three matches demonstrate their potential and talent.

5. Virtus.pro (Snax, byali, pasha, NEO and TaZ) [+2]

Recent form:
CEVO-P S9 (3rd-4th)
Adrenaline Open Cyber Cup (1st)
Starladder i-League Invitational (1st)
ELEAGUE S1 Group F (2nd)
ESL One Cologne (3rd-4th)

Virtus.pro’s impressive performance at the major, including a map win against SK Gaming, secures their position in the top five. They are looking like an elite team once again.

6. Ninjas in Pyjamas (GeT_RiGhT, f0rest, friberg, Xizt and pyth) [-3]

Recent form:
ESL ProLeague S3 Finals (3rd-4th)
ELEAGUE S1 Group B (1st)
Dreamhack Summer (2nd)
ECS S1 (7th-8th)
ESL One Cologne (9th-12th)

NiP had a disappointing performance at the major and will need to regain their form and secure good results in future tournaments to climb back up the rankings.

7. Immortals (HEN1, boltz, lucas1, felps and SHOOWTIME) [-1]

Recent form:
CEVO-P S9 (1st)
DreamHack Austin (2nd)
Americas Minor – Cologne (2nd)
ESL One Cologne Qualifier (DNQ)
Dreamhack Summer (1st)

Despite not participating in the major, Immortals’ consistent performance in tier two events and victories over dignitas and NiP solidifies their position in the top ten.

8. Na`Vi (GuardiaN, Edward, Seized, flamie and Zeus) [-5]

Recent form:
Starladder i-League Invitational (2nd)
Adrenaline Open Cyber Cup (2nd)
ELEAGUE S1 Group E (1st)
ESL One Cologne (5th-8th)

Na`Vi’s performance at the major was below expectations, failing to secure a top-four finish and lacking significant wins against top-ranked opponents. This marks their first drop into the bottom half of the rankings in over a year.

9. Astralis (device, dupreeh, Kjaerbye, Xyp9x and karrigan) [-4]

Recent form:
ESL ProLeague S3 Finals (7th-8th)
Dreamhack Summer (3rd-4th)
ELEAGUE S1 Group C (1st)
ECS S1 (7th-8th)
ESL One Cologne (5th-8th)

Despite using stand-ins at the major, Astralis has managed to secure decent placements in recent tournaments, ensuring their spot in the top 10 rankings.

10. FlipSid3 (WorldEdit, markeloff, B1ad3, wayLandeR and shara) [NEW]

Recent form:
ESL One Cologne Qualifier (Qual’d)
ELEAGUE S1 Group E (2nd)
ESL One Cologne (5th-8th)

FlipSid3’s impressive performance at the major, including a win against NiP and a top-eight finish, earns them a spot in the top 10 rankings. Their achievements are remarkable given the limited number of results and wins in this part of the rankings.
