CS:GO Patch Introduces Bodyy’s Wallbang Adjustment and New Skins Update

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Update: Middle-Map Wallbang Nerfed, New Weapon Skins Added

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) underwent an update last night that addressed a significant issue and introduced new weapon skins. The update modified the infamous Z doorway wallbang on the middle-map Cache, reducing its damage by 93 percent. Previously, Counter-Terrorists exiting from spawn to middle were vulnerable to a wallbang that dealt 135 damage. Now, the AWP shot only deals 10 damage per headshot, allowing Counter-Terrorists to take middle control without fear of being eliminated through two walls.

Despite the update, some players have discovered an alternative wallbang from the Terrorist spawn. Streamer Jason “JasonR” Ruchelski demonstrated this wallbang on Twitch, even after FMPONE (the map creator) coordinated the update with Valve. When the clip was shared on Reddit, it was titled “Nice Try FMPONE.”

If FMPONE wishes to prevent the Terrorist side from gaining an unfair advantage, they may need to further reduce the damage caused by the back garage wall.

In addition to the wallbang adjustment, the update introduced four new weapon skins featuring “normal mapping.” Normal mapping adds a three-dimensional effect to skins that were previously two-dimensional, enhancing their visual appeal. The newly textured skins are the M4A4 The Battlestar, the SSG 08 Big Iron, the Glock-18 Wraiths, and the Desert Eagle Directive.

YouTuber 3kliksphilip created a video showcasing the differences between the normal map versions and the previous versions of these skins:

With the addition of these new skins, CS:GO now offers a total of five normal mapped skins. Players are eagerly anticipating the inclusion of more normal map skins, particularly the AK-47 Cartel, a popular minimalist skin.

Hopefully, more positive changes will be implemented in Counter-Strike leading up to the Krakow Major in the coming weeks.
