CSGO Lounge ends skin betting operations

CSGO Lounge Announces the End of Skin Betting

In a recent announcement on CSGO Lounge’s steam community group page, the popular betting site revealed that it will no longer offer skin betting.

This change is effective immediately and comes shortly after it was discovered that Virtus.Pro’s parent company, ESForce Holdings, holds a 90% share in CSGO Lounge.

Following a 10-day warning period from Valve’s initial cease and desist letter to many gambling sites, CSGO Lounge had previously announced its intention to obtain a gambling license. However, it appears that this plan is now on hold or will be reserved for future unannounced features. In the meantime, CSGO Lounge will primarily serve as an information center.

According to a post by Robert “Borewik” Borewik and the teams behind CSGO Lounge and Dota2 Lounge, CSGO Lounge will continue to operate as an esports entertainment and information platform, with new features set to be released soon.

As more information comes out about these betting websites, the closure of CSGO Lounge’s betting system, which was considered the largest and least casino-like, may signify the end of betting in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
