Controversial victory for Immortals at the Northern Arena LAN event

Immortals Wins Northern Arena Tournament

Immortals, a professional Esports team, has emerged victorious in the trouble Northern Arena tournament, securing their second international Counter-Strike LAN tournament win. In a thrilling grand final, Immortals defeated Cloud9 to claim the title.

Both teams put up a tough fight throughout the series, each winning one map. The decisive third map, Overpass, became crucial in determining the winner. Immortals initially had a lead, but it didn’t last long.

Unfortunately, the event faced criticism due to delays and administrative errors, and the grand final was no exception. During the deciding game, one of Immortal’s players, Henrique “HEN1” Teles, failed to fully cover one of his ears with the noise-canceling headset required for all players. This raised concerns that HEN1 was listening to the commentators, leading to a pause in the game.

Eventually, the game resumed and Cloud9 initially gained an advantage, ending the first half with nine rounds in their favor. However, Immortals found a way to counter Cloud9’s aggression in the second half, overtaking them on the scoreboard. In the end, Immortals secured a 16-11 victory, along with the $50,000 first prize.
