Cloud9’s Tarik Engages in Discussions about Joining MIBR – Report

The reigning CSGO Major champions might lose another player to MIBR

The team formerly known as SK Gaming, MIBR, is reportedly interested in acquiring Tarik “tarik” Celik from Cloud9, according to DBLTAP. MIBR reached out to Cloud9 after their disappointing performance at ESL One Cologne, where they failed to advance past the group stage.

Cloud9 also had a disappointing run at the event and was unable to reach the playoffs. They attended the tournament with Martin “STYKO” Styk as a stand-in for Pujan “FNS” Mehta, who was dropped from the team in May.

If Tarik joins MIBR, he will be reunited with his former Cloud9 teammate Jacky “Stewie2k” Yip. This move would leave Cloud9 with only a three-man roster, forcing them to find two new players before the FaceIt London Valve Major in September.

It’s worth noting that Cloud9 cannot make any further roster changes until after the next Major. The core players from their ELEAGUE Major-winning roster, Will “RUSH” Wierzba, Timothy “autimatic” Ta, and Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham, would remain on the team.

If Tarik joins MIBR, he will replace Ricardo “boltz” Prass. The lack of results for MIBR seems to have prompted them to seek a change before their next big challenge.

Neither MIBR nor Cloud9 has commented on the potential move at this time.
