Cloud9’s CS:GO team embarks on a year-long partnership with US Air Force

Cloud9 Becomes First Esports Organization to Partner with U.S. Air Force

Cloud9 has made history by securing a sponsorship from the U.S. Air Force, marking the first collaboration between an esports organization and a branch of the military.

This partnership between the U.S. Air Force and Cloud9’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) team includes a content collaboration. The team will document their visits to various air force bases across the country, while also conducting sponsor activations at ELEAGUE events.

Cloud9 CEO Jack Etienne expressed his pride in creating awareness for the Air Force among their fan base. He stated, “By forging a dynamic partnership with the Air Force, we can provide extraordinary content that reveals a different side of the team.”

The video content will showcase the Cloud9 team interacting with various units of the U.S. Air Force. The first episode is set to take place at the Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Georgia, where the team will engage with a top bomb disposal unit.

Cloud9’s CS:GO roster achieved a significant milestone on January 28th when they became the first North American team to win a Valve Major, the most prestigious tournament in the game’s competitive circuit. However, since their victory, two star players, Jacky “Stewie2k” Yip and Tarik “tarik” Celik, have departed the team to join the predominantly Brazilian MIBR roster.

The team’s debut sponsor activation for the U.S. Air Force is expected to be at the ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier, commencing on July 21st.
