Cloud9 drops fREAKAZOiD from its Counter-Strike lineup

Cloud9 Removes fREAKAZOiD from Counter-Strike Roster

Cloud9 has made the decision to remove Ryan “fREAKAZOiD” Abadir from their Counter-Strike roster following a series of disappointing performances.

Struggles and Recent Results

Although fREAKAZOiD had initially helped the team achieve great success, including reaching several major finals, Cloud9 has recently struggled to achieve positive results. The team finished at the bottom of their group in the MLG Columbus event and failed to qualify for the DreamHack Malmo event.

Attempted Corrections

In an attempt to improve their performance, Cloud9 replaced in-game leader Sean Gares with Jake “Stewie2K” Yip, but this change did not yield the desired results.

fREAKAZOiD’s Controversy

fREAKAZOiD attracted negative attention in February when he was penalized with a month’s pay deduction and required to attend a bullying seminar for an online confrontation with Team Liquid’s Aleksandr “S1mple” Kostylev. Cloud9 publicly apologized to S1mple, and fREAKAZOiD later acknowledged his behavior was unacceptable.

The Stand-In Replacement

Liquid’s Eric “adreN” Hoag will serve as a stand-in to replace fREAKAZOiD, but there is no official announcement about the long-term future of the open roster spot.

fREAKAZOiD’s Contract Status

Although fREAKAZOiD has been removed from the starting lineup, he has not been released by Cloud9. Any teams interested in recruiting him will need to buy out his contract, which has recently been extended until 2017.
